However, the new airport should serve the citizens and tourists of Alanya, as an alternative to the nearest airport of Antalya. Gazipasa airport is located only 40 km away or 30 min. drive East from the center of Antalya, about 2:00 away from the Antalya airport, which is about 120 km. to the West of Alanya.

Foreign residents are anxious to know what airlines will operate in the new airport. Guldžin Gunder, President of Alanya Tourist Association (ALTID), made a statement to the press that TAV is currently in talks with Easyjet-budget British airline serving Europe. Easyjet now operates flights from the United Kingdom to Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul. Alanya patriots require the insertion of the word "Alania" in the airport name because the name "Gazipasa" is not known outside of Turkey. TAV holding of Turkey Ministry of culture and tourism has not yet made official comments regarding the name of the Terminal.
